Blast Off Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 (12 oz) boxes maderia cake mix
20 tbsp butter
2 3/4 cups powdered sugar
4 tbsp milk
None None purple food coloring

1 1/2 lb jelly beans
8 None sparklers
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease and flour 2 cake pans.
Make cake mix according to package directions. Distribute between prepared pans and bake for 50 mins. Let cool in pans for 10 mins then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Meanwhile, to make the buttercream, beat butter until as white as possible. Gradually beat in 1/2 the powdered sugar and milk then remaining powdered sugar. Beat until smooth. Tint purple with food coloring.
Place cakes side by side then use a serrated knife to level tops and trim to resemble a rocket shape. Secure cakes to a cake board with a little buttercream then coat with remaining buttercream. Decorate with jelly beans and place sparklers in cake.
Light sparklers just before serving.
