Ham-Stuffed Steaks With Broccoli And Mashed Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 x 30 g slices cooked ham
3 tbsp sandwich spread (with peppers)
    6 x 60 g minute steaks
    500 g head of broccoli
2 tbsp slivered or flaked almonds
1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil
82 g pack instant mashed potato
    125 ml milk
    1 tbsp butter
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
Prepare the vegetables. Cook the broccoli, whole or in pieces, in boiling salted water, until tender. Set aside, reserving the cooking water. Make the mashed potatoes according to the package directions with boiling water. Add the milk and butter. Set aside in a warm place.
Spread each slice of ham with 1 tablespoon of pepper relish and fold the edges in to enclose it like a parcel. Put each ham parcel on a steak then place another steak on top and hold the stack together with cocktail sticks or toothpicks. Add the oil to the hot pan and sear the stuffed steaks for 3-4 mins on each side. Season and remove from the pan. Deglaze the pan with 1/2 cup broccoli cooking water. Add the black pepper, bring to a boil, stirring well and let the juices reduce to a glaze.
Serve the stuffed steaks, with glaze spooned over, with the mashed potatoes and the broccoli sprinkled with toasted almonds.
