Cheese And Ham Breakfast Pastries - cooking recipe

1 None (13-oz) sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
3 1/2 oz wafer thin smoked ham
5 oz cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
1 medium egg, beaten
Preparation

Cut puff pastry sheet in half along its length and width to make 4 rectangles. Arrange ham and cheese, on one half of each rectangle to within 1/4 inch of the edge. Lightly brush the edges with water and fold the pastry over the filling to enclose. Press the edges firmly together to seal.
Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and brush with beaten egg to glaze. Bake at 400\u00b0F for 20-25 minutes until golden and well risen. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
