Caramelized Pear And Gingerbread Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 tbsp unsalted butter, coarsely chopped
    1/4 cup light brown sugar, plus 1/3 cup extra
    6 None pears, peeled, cored, cut into 8 pieces lengthwise
    3/4 cup honey or maple syrup
    1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 tbsp ground ginger
    1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
Preparation
    Melt 5 tbsp butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add 1/4 cup sugar and pears. Cook, turning occasionally, for 8 mins, or until pears are caramelized. Let cool.
    Meanwhile, preheat oven to 300\u00b0F. Grease a 9x13 inch rimmed baking pan and line base and long sides with parchment paper, extending paper 2 inches over sides.
    Combine honey, 1/2 cup water and remaining sugar and butter in a medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until smooth. Bring to a boil then remove from heat. Let cool then stir in dry ingredients. Transfer to prepared pan. Drain pears and gently push into batter. Bake for 30 mins. Let cool in pan for 15 mins then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting.
