Macaroni And Cheese With Smoky Ham - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 oz macaroni
    2 tbsp cornstarch
    2 cups skim milk
    2 tsp low-fat spread
    4.25 oz triple smoked ham, finely chopped
    1 oz Cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
    1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
    4 oz frozen peas
    1/2 cup fresh sourdough breadcrumbs
    None None mixed greens, to serve
Preparation
    Preheat broiler. Cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain.
    Meanwhile, whisk together cornstarch and 1/3 cup milk until smooth. Set aside. Melt low-fat spread in a saucepan over high heat. Add ham and cook for 2 mins, until golden. Add cornstarch slurry and remaining milk. Cook until mixture boils and thickens. Add cheese, sage and peas. Cook until cheese melts and peas are heated. Toss with pasta then transfer to 4 - 11 oz ramekins. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and broil for 2 mins, or until golden and bubbling.
    Serve with mixed greens.
