Sweet And Sour Red Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 tbsp butter
2 None onions, thinly sliced
1 head red cabbage, thinly sliced
1 cup dry red wine
1 cup apple juice
1/3-1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
2 None bay leaves
2 None cinnamon sticks
1/4 tsp ground cloves
2 tbsp sugar
3 None apples, peeled, cored and diced
Preparation

Melt the butter in a large, heavy pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 4-5 mins until translucent. Add the cabbage, wine, apple juice, vinegar, bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves and sugar. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 50-60 mins. Add the apples 15 mins before the end of cooking time. Taste and, if necessary, add more vinegar, sugar and salt. Remove the bay leaves and cinnamon sticks and serve.
