Chicken With Spiced Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 cup olive oil
    4 None chicken breast fillets, halved
    1 None large onion, finely sliced
    1 tsp turmeric
    14 oz long-grain rice, washed
    4 cups hot chicken stock
    8 None peppercorns
    4 None cardamom pods, lightly crushed
    2 None whole cloves
    1 stick cinnamon
    4 oz fresh or frozen peas
Preparation
    Heat oil in a large, deep frying pan over high heat. Cook chicken for 2 mins per side, until golden brown. Set aside.
    Reduce heat to medium and saute onion for 3 mins, until golden brown. Add turmeric and cook, stirring, for 1 min. Add rice and stir for 3-4 mins, until translucent. Stir in stock and spices. Season. Return chicken to pan and push down into rice. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 mins. Add peas and cook for another 8-10 mins, until chicken is cooked through and liquid is absorbed. Serve.
