Almond Butter Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, softened
1 tsp almond extract
1 1/2 cups sugar
6 None eggs
3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup ground almonds

Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease a deep 9-inch square baking pan; line the bottom with parchment paper.
Beat the butter, almond extract and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until combined between additions.
Using a wooden spoon, stir in the flours and ground almonds, in two batches. Spread the mixture into the prepared pan.
Bake for about 1 hour until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Dust the cake with a little sifted powdered sugar, if desired.
