Brown Sugar Walnut Rolls - cooking recipe

8 tbsp butter, softened
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar, plus extra, for sprinkling
1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts
3 2/3 cups self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups milk

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0F. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan. For the nut mixture, beat the butter and 4 tbsp sugar in small bowl with a wooden spoon until just combined. Spread in pan and sprinkle with nuts.
For the dough, sift the flour into a medium bowl and rub in 2 tbsp butter with your fingertips. Add enough milk to mix into a firm dough. Knead on a floured work surface until smooth. Roll into a 10 x 12 inch rectangle.
To assemble, melt the remaining butter and brush on the dough. Sprinkle with extra sugar. Roll dough from one long side then cut into 10 rounds. Place rolls, cut side-up, in the pan and press lightly into the nut mixture. Bake 25 mins, until golden. Serve.
