Dulce De Leche Bars With Walnuts And Chocolate - cooking recipe

15 tbsp butter, chopped, at room temperature
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted

3/4 cup condensed milk
3 1/2 tbsp butter, chopped
1 tbsp honey
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
3 oz chopped chocolate
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Lightly grease and line a 12x8 inch rimmed baking pan with parchment paper.
Cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Fold in flour until combined. Roll 1/2 cup dough into a 3/4 inch log. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill until required. Roll out remaining dough and use to line base of pan.
Meanwhile, to make the filling, bring condensed milk, butter and honey to a boil, stirring. Let cool slightly then spread over base. Sprinkle with walnuts and chocolate. Unwrap chilled log of dough, trim ends then slice into 24 discs. Arrange over filling then bake for 25-30 mins, until filling sets and pastry is golden brown. Let cool in pan for 5 mins then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
