Applespice Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 tsp ground ginger
    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    1 pinch ground cloves
    1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 cup canned apple pie filling
    1 None egg, lightly beaten
    3/4 cup milk
    1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp melted butter
    1 small apple
    2 tbsp cinnamon sugar
Preparation
    Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F. Grease a 6-cup Texas muffin pan.
    Sift the flour, baking soda, spices and brown sugar into a large bowl. Stir in the apple pie filling. Add the egg, milk and 1/4 cup melted butter; mix until just combined. Spoon the mixture into the prepared pan.
    Peel, core and halve the apple; slice each half thinly. Place an apple slice on top of each muffin. Brush with 2 tbsp melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
    Bake for about 25 mins until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 mins. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.
