Cottage Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 large onion, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    2 medium carrots, finely chopped
    2 lbs ground beef
    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    2 tbsp tomato paste
    1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
    1 tsp dried mixed herbs, such as Italian seasoning
    7 oz button mushrooms, quartered
    1 cup frozen peas
    2 lbs potatoes, coarsely chopped
    3/4 cup hot milk
    3 tbsp butter, at room temperature
    1/2 cup coarsely grated mozzarella cheese
Preparation
    Heat oil in large saucepan on medium-high heat. Cook onion, garlic and carrot, stirring, until onion softens. Add beef, cook, stirring, for 10 mins or until changed in color.
    Add Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes and herbs to pan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, for 30 mins or until mixture thickens slightly. Stir in mushrooms and peas.
    Preheat the oven to 350\u00b0F. Meanwhile, boil, steam or microwave potato until tender; drain. Mash potato in large bowl with milk and butter. Season.
    Pour beef mixture into deep 3-quart baking dish. Top with mashed potato mixture and sprinkle with cheese.
    Bake for 35 mins or until heated through and top is lightly browned.
