Chocolate Pavlovas With Strawberries - cooking recipe

4 None egg whites
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup plus 3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp white vinegar
1 1/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 lb strawberries, halved
None None Coarsely grated chocolate, to serve (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 250\u00b0F. Grease a baking sheet. Mark six 3-inch circles on a large sheet of parchment and place paper on baking sheet, marked-side down.
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in small bowl with electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add 1 cup plus 2 tbsp sugar, beating until dissolved between additions. Fold in sifted cocoa and cornstarch, then vinegar.
Divide mixture among circles on tray. Bake pavlovas for about 45 mins or until crisp and dry. Cool in oven with door ajar.
Just before serving, beat cream and 1 tbsp sugar in small bowl with electric mixer until soft peaks form. Top pavlovas with cream and strawberries and coarsely grated chocolate.
