Spiced Figs In Port Caramel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tbsp butter
    6 None fresh figs, quartered
    1 piece (1 inch) fresh ginger, thinly sliced
    2 None star anise
    2 tbsp brown sugar
    1/4 cup port
    1/2 cup chicken stock
Preparation
    Melt the butter in a medium skillet on medium heat. Cook the figs, ginger and star anise, stirring, for about 5 mins or until the figs are caramelized. Remove the figs from pan.
    Add the sugar, port, stock and 1/2 cup water to the pan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 mins or until the mixture reduces by half. Return the figs to the pan and simmer, uncovered, for 1 min. Serve as an accompaniment to roast pork.
