Cherry And Banana Yogurt Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 tbsp butter, softened
    3/4 cup brown sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    3 medium eggs
    2 1/3 cups flour
    3 tsp baking powder
    9 oz banana yogurt
    1 lb cherries, stems and pits removed and roughly chopped
    4 tbsp apricot jam
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla extract. Add the eggs one at a time, stirring constantly then slowly fold in the flour, baking powder and yogurt. Transfer to a greased and floured square cake pan about 8 x 8 inches. Distribute the cherries on top and bake in the center of the oven for 1 1/4 hours, covering with foil after 45 mins. Cool on a wire rack.
    For the glaze, heat the jam with 1 tbsp water in a saucepan. Brush on the cake and cut to serve.
