Almond Crisps - cooking recipe

1/2 cup butter, chopped
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup self-rising flour, plus 2 tbsp
1/3 cup ground almonds
2 tbsp sliced almonds
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0F. Lightly grease 2-3 baking trays.
Beat butter and sugar until smooth. Stir in flour and ground almonds. Roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls and place on trays about 2 inches apart. Flatten into 1/3 inch thick discs using a lightly floured fork. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Bake for 10 mins, or until golden brown.
Let cool on baking trays for 5 mins then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
