Sesame Toffee Apple And Banana - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 cup plain flour, plus additional for dusting
    1 tbsp cornstarch
    2 tsp baking powder
    2 large apples, peeled and cored
    2 None bananas, peeled, halved lengthwise and crosswise
    2/3 cup sugar
    1/4 tsp vinegar
    None None Oil, for deep-frying, plus additional 1 tbsp
    1 tbsp sesame seeds
    None None Whipped cream or ice cream, to serve
Preparation
    To make batter, sift flour, cornstarch and baking powder into a bowl. Add 3/4 cup water and mix to make a smooth batter. Set aside.
    Cut apples into eight wedges. Dust apple and banana with additional flour, shaking off excess. Set aside.
    Heat sugar, 1/3 cup water and vinegar in a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan on low heat. Cook, stirring, for 4 mins, until sugar dissolves. Add 1 tbsp oil and set aside.
    Heat oil in large skillet to 350\u00b0F. Dip pieces of fruit into batter one at a time, draining off excess. Carefully lower into hot oil and cook for 3-4 mins, until golden, turning if necessary. Remove and drain on paper towels.
    Meanwhile, reheat sugar syrup on low heat. Add sesame seeds and cook for 8-10 mins, without stirring, until a deep caramel color. Add fried fruit to caramel a few pieces at a time, stirring gently to coat. Remove and place on a lightly oiled serving platter. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream .
