Ingredients

1 tbsp olive oil
1 can (28 oz) Italian whole peeled tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, peeled
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 tsp dried oregano
None None Salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation

Heat the olive oil in a medium saucepan on medium heat.
Drain excess liquid from tomatoes. Add to saucepan along with the garlic and tomato paste. Cook sauce, uncovered, for 30 mins, stirring occasionally.
Pass the sauce through a food mill or thick sieve into a clean saucepan. Add the oregano and season to taste with salt and pepper.
Simmer the sauce, uncovered, for 10 mins. Cool completely.
