Baked Meatballs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lbs ground beef
    2 None eggs
    1 cup dried breadcrumbs
1 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
    1/4 cup olive oil
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 jar (24 oz) tomato pasta sauce
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
    1 cup frozen peas
1/2 cup coarsely chopped fresh basil
    3/4 cup ricotta cheese
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F. Oil a 3-quart baking dish.
Combine the beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, 1/2 cup of the Parmesan cheese and parsley in a large bowl; season to taste. Using wet hands, roll rounded tablespoons of mixture into balls.
Heat half the oil in a large skillet on high heat. Cook the meatballs, in batches, until browned all over. Transfer to the prepared dish.
Heat the remaining oil in the same pan. Cook the onion and garlic, stirring, for 3 mins or until the onion softens. Remove from the heat. Stir in the pasta sauce, tomatoes, peas and basil. Season to taste. Pour the tomato mixture over the meatballs. Top with ricotta and remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
Bake, uncovered, for 40 mins or until meatballs are cooked through. Serve with pasta and/or a green salad.
