Beef Stew With Peppers And Artichokes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 tbsp olive oil
    2 1/4 lbs lean beef, cubed
    2 1/4 lbs onions, peeled and diced
    1 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped
    2 cups dry red wine
    None pinch sugar
    2 None bay leaves
    2 None red peppers, seeded and cut into strips
    14 oz artichoke hearts, drained and halved
    1 lb macaroni pasta
Preparation
    To make the stew, heat the olive oil in a large saucepan and beown the beef for 10 mins, stirring in the onions and garlic after 8 mins. Pour in the wine, bring it to a boil and simmer for about 3 mins. Pour in 2 cups of water, stir and bring back to the boil. Add the sugar and bay leaves and season to taste. Cover and simmer for 2 hours, adding the peppers and artichokes after 1 hour.
    Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and ladle the stew over it to serve.
