Cherry Almond Cakes - cooking recipe

12 tbsp (1 1/2 sticks) butter, melted
6 None egg whites, lightly beaten
1 cup ground almonds
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup flour
1 lb fresh cherries, pitted
Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F. Grease 12 small rectangular pans or a 12-cup muffin pan (1/3-cup capacity).
Combine butter, egg whites, ground almonds, sifted powdered sugar and flour in a large bowl. Divide mixture among prepared pans. Sprinkle with cherries.
Bake for about 25 mins. Cool in pan 5 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
