Savory Ham And Cheese Scones - cooking recipe

3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
11 tbsp butter, chilled and grated
3/4 cup + 2 tbsp buttermilk
6 None green onions, trimmed and finely sliced
9 oz cooked ham, cut into strips
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp medium-hot mustard
1/2 tsp wholegrain mustard
1 tbsp chives, finely chopped, to garnish
Preparation

Place the flour in a large mixing bowl with the salt, baking powder, grated butter and 3/4 cup of buttermilk. Use an electric mixer fitted with a dough hook to combine the mixture, it may be fairly crumbly. Add a little water if necessary. Chill, covered, for 15 mins. Preheat the oven to 325\u00b0F.
Working quickly, knead the green onions, ham and most of the cheese into the dough. Shape into a large round and cut into 8 pieces. Place in a circular fashion on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush with 2 tbsp of buttermilk and scatter over the remaining cheese. Bake for 35-40 mins.
Meanwhile, make the sour cream topping by mixing together the sour cream and mustards.
Serve the sour cream topping with the scones and scatter over the chives, to garnish.
