Steak And Kidney Pie - cooking recipe

10 oz beef ox kidneys
3 1/3 lbs beef chuck steak, coarsely chopped
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
1 cup beef stock
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup plain flour
2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 None egg, lightly beaten
Preparation

Remove the fat from the kidneys. Chop the kidneys finely. Place the kidneys, steak, onion, stock and soy sauce in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer, covered, for about 1 hour or until the steak is tender.
Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F.
Whisk flour and 1/2 cup water in a small bowl. Add to the beef mixture and stir until the mixture boils and thickens. Transfer to six 1 1/2-cup baking dishes.
Cut the pastry into 6 rounds with the same diameter as the baking dishes. Place the rounds on beef mixture and brush them with egg. Bake the pies for about 15 mins or until browned.
