Beef And Noodle Casserole - cooking recipe

2 slices bacon, diced
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 lb lean ground beef
1 None onion, diced
1 tbsp dried oregano
16 oz noodles
1 cup reduced-sodium vegetable broth
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 tbsp canned French-fried onions

Preheat the oven to 400\u00b0F. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the bacon and cook until crisp. Remove from the pan. Add the oil to the pan and heat over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking up with a wooden spoon, for 5-6 mins until browned. Add the diced onion and oregano and cook, stirring, for 5 mins. Stir in the bacon.
Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to package directions until almost tender. Drain well. Bring the broth and cream to a boil in a small saucepan. Layer the noodles and beef sauce in a large baking dish. Pour the cream mixture over the top, then sprinkle with the Parmesan and canned onions. Bake for 15-20 mins until bubbly.
