Ingredients

7 tbsp butter, chopped
1 cup milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup self-raising flour
1/2 cup chopped, pitted, dried dates
2/3 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
None None vanilla ice cream, to serve
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease an 8 cup rectangular shallow baking dish.
Combine 4 tbsp of butter and a 1/2 cup of milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir for 3 minutes or until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in half the sugar and flour until combined. Add dates and walnuts and stir to combine. Spoon mixture into prepared dish and level surface.
Combine remaining butter, remaining milk, remaining sugar and 1 1/4 cups of boiling water in a heat proof bowl. Carefully pour sauce over pudding. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden and bubbling. Serve immediately with ice cream.
