Spaghetti With Bacon And Broccoli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 oz spaghetti
    3 tbsp vegetable oil
    4 slices bacon, diced
    1/2 head broccoli, cut into florets, stems sliced
    1 None onion, diced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    3 tbsp tomato paste
    4 None tomatoes, chopped
    Pinch None sugar
    2 tsp dried basil
Preparation
    Cook the spaghetti according to the package directions until tender. Meanwhile, heat 1 tbsp oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and cook until crisp. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon; reserve. Add the broccoli and 1/3 cup water to the saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 3-4 mins until crisp-tender. Drain the broccoli and reserve. Rinse and dry the saucepan.
    Heat the remaining 2 tbsp oil in the saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 5 mins. Stir in the tomato paste and cook, stirring, for 1 min. Add the tomatoes, sugar, basil and 3/4 cup water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 mins, stirring occasionally. Stir in the broccoli and bacon, season with salt and pepper and warm through.
    Drain the spaghetti and stir into the broccoli mixture. Divide among four bowls and serve.
