Nutty Cornflake Bars - cooking recipe

1/2 cup butter, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
5 3/4 cups cornflakes
12 oz milk chocolate, melted
Preparation

Grease and line an 8x12 inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper, extending paper 2 inches over sides.
Stir butter, sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter in a large saucepan over low heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer, without stirring, for 5 mins. Gently stir in cornflakes then transfer to prepared pan, pressing down firmly. Chill for 30 mins, or until set.
Spread melted chocolate over bars. Let stand at room temperature until set then cut into small bars.
