Braised Steak And Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tbsp oil
    2 lbs chuck steak, trimmed, cubed
    1/4 cup seasoned all purpose flour
    3 None onions, sliced
    1 lb button mushrooms, trimmed
    1 cup water
    1 cup beef stock
    1/4 cup tomato paste
    None None mashed potatoes, green beans, to serve
Preparation
    Heat oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan on high. Dust steak in seasoned flour, shaking off excess. Brown in 3 batches for 2-3 mins. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
    Add onions to same pan. Cook over medium heat for 4-5 mins, until onions have softened and browned. Stir mushrooms into onions. Cook for a further 2-3 mins. Return beef to pan with combined water, stock and tomato paste. Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat to low and simmer covered, for 1 hour 30 mins. Remove lid and cook for further 30 mins until beef is very tender and sauce has thickened slightly. Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.
