Bread Pudding With Raisins And Vanilla - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 tbsp butter, softened
    6 slices white bread, crust removed
    1/2 cup raisins
    1 2/3 cups milk
    2 cups heavy cream
    1/3 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    4 None large eggs
    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0F. Grease a shallow baking dish.
    Spread butter over bread then cut into 4 triangles. Layer bread, overlapping, in dish. Sprinkle with raisins.
    Bring milk, cream, sugar and vanilla to a boil. Remove from heat. Whisk eggs in a large bowl. Gradually whisk hot milk mixture into eggs. Pour custard over bread and sprinkle with nutmeg. Place the baking dish in a larger baking dish. Add enough boiling water to come halfway up sides of custard dish. Bake for 45 mins, or until set. Remove pudding from baking dish and let stand for 5 mins before serving.
