Boozy Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium onions, peeled and cut in 1/2 inch slices
    1/2 cup dry white wine
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    3 tablespoons corn syrup
    2 whole cloves
    1 tablespoon flour
    1 tablespoon melted butter
Preparation
    Place onions, wine, salt, corn syrup and cloves in a saucepan.
    Simmer at a low heat until tender (about 20 minutes).
    Blend flour and butter and then mix into onions to thicken.
    Remove cloves before serving.
