Mexican Sheppards Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb ground turkey or 1 lb ground beef
    1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes with mild green chilies
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 teaspoons cumin powder
    3 tablespoons chili powder
    2 garlic cloves, chopped
    1 cup water
    1 (10 ounce) package vigo yellow rice
    1 (16 ounce) package frozen corn
    2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
    2 teaspoons butter
    cooking spray
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    Cook rice according to package directions.
    Saute diced onions and diced garlic in butter in a frying pan until translucent add ground turkey and brown.
    Add cumin, chili pwder,1 can tomatoes & mild chilies including liquid and 1 cup water stir well and cook until water is absorbed.
    Spray a 13x9 baking dish with cooking spray layer ground turkey on bottom of dish then layer with frozen corn.
    Add 1 cup of shredded cheese on top of corn.
    Then add cooked yellow rice on top of cheese.
    Top rice with remainder of cheese.
    Cook in oven for 30-45 min or until cheese turns golden brown on top. Enjoy.
