Old Fashioned Banana Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    Bread Pudding
    1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
    4 cups French bread (stale bread) or 4 cups sourdough bread, cubed (stale bread)
    3 eggs
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 cups milk
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 cup banana, sliced
    Sauce
    3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 tablespoon cornstarch
    3/4 cup milk
    1/4 cup light corn syrup
    1 teaspoon vanilla
Preparation
    heat oven to 375*F.
    in a 2-quart casserole melt 1/4 cup butter in oven for 4 to 6 minutes.
    stir in bread cubes.
    in medium bowl slightly beat eggs, stir in remaining pudding ingredients \"except bananas\".
    stir in bananas.
    pour over bread cubes, stir to coat.
    bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until a knife inserted near center comes out clean.
    meanwhile in a 1 quart saucepan melt 3 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
    stir in sugar and cornstarch, add remaining ingredients \"except for vanilla\".
    continue cooking, stirring occasionally until sauce come to a full boil, about 3 to 4 minutes.
    stir in vanilla.
    serve sauce over warm pudding.
