Simple Garlicky Lima Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 cups fresh lima beans (or another kind of bean)
    2 1/2 cups water or 2 1/2 cups vegetable broth
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    3 fresh thyme sprigs
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 teaspoon sea salt
    1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
Preparation
    Sort and wash beans; drain.
    Combine beans and next 5 ingredients (through bay leaf) in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until tender.
    Discard thyme sprigs and bay leaf. Stir in salt and pepper.
