Biblical Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 ounces butter
    3 eggs
    1 pinch salt
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    8 ounces raisins
    1/2 teaspoon mixed spice
    6 ounces sugar
    12 ounces flour, sifted
    1/2 cup milk
    2 tablespoons honey
    8 ounces chopped figs or 8 ounces dates
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar.
    Add the eggs.
    Mix in the rest of the ingredients, stirring well, adding the fruit last.
    Bake in an 8 inch tin at 350 F for 1 1/2-2 hours.
