2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons cloves
2 teaspoons ginger
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 egg
Preparation

Stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger.
In large bowl cream butter, sugar, and egg; gradually add dry ingredients, mixing well. (If dough is very soft chill slightly for easier rolling).
On lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8 inch(3 mm) thickness. With cookie cutters, cut into desired shapes; place on greased baking sheet. Bake in 375\u00b0F (190\u00b0C) oven for 5-8 minutes or until set.
