Fruit Slab Cake - cooking recipe

8 ounces margarine
8 ounces caster sugar
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon almond essence
10 ounces self raising flour
4 ounces dried fruit
2 ounces sliced almonds
1 ounce cherries
Preparation

Cream margarine and sugar then gradually add in the eggs.
Fold in remaining ingredients, pour into loaf tin and bake at 350F for 1 hour.
