Lydia’S Mother Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    28 ounces sauerkraut, drained
    28 ounces crushed tomatoes
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 lb marrow, bones
    1 lb beef stew meat
    1/4 - 1/2 cup sugar
Preparation
    Place sauerkraut, stew meat and beef bones, tomatoes, and onion.
    Cover with 1 inch of water.
    Bring to a boil.
    add the sugar and simmer until the meat is very tender.
    Remove bones but leave marrow in soup.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
