Real Lemonade - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
    1/2 cup boiling water
    1 tablespoon lemon zest (rind)
    1 1/2 cups lemon juice, fresh squeezed
    8 cups cold water
    ice cubes or crushed ice
Preparation
    Dissolve sugar in boiling water.
    Add lemon rind & juice.
    TO SERVE:.
    Combine cold water, lemon mixture & ice in a large pitcher.
    Stir well.
    If desired, garnish each serving with a sprig of fresh mint &/or a cherry.
