Ginger Compress - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
1 gallon water
4 -5 inches fresh ginger
Preparation
-
Bring water to a boil.
While the water is boiling, grate ginger on the side.
Lower flame to stop boiling.
Put the grated ginger in a piece of cheesecloth or thin cotton.
Tie it in a knot.
Squeeze this ginger sack into the hot water.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
DO NOT BOIL.
Lay a thin towel over the part of your body you are treating{example, lower back for kidneys}.
Dip another towel in the hot water, squeeze tightly and lay over the thin towel.
Cover with another dry towel to conserve heat.
Change the ginger towel when it no longer feels hot.
Repeat the ginger compress until the skin turns bright pink.
Do this two to three times a week.
Note: The ginger water can be used 2- 3 times as long as you don't boil it while re-heating.
