Peppernuts (Pfeffernusse) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pint dark corn syrup
1/2 lb brown sugar
1/2 lb shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon clove
1/2 teaspoon anise oil
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/4 cup almonds, ground
1/2 cup ground walnuts
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons lemon zest
9 cups flour
Preparation

Mix everything together.
Roll in to balls the size of large marbles.
bake on cookie sheets, 325F for 15 minutes or so.
