Ingredients

1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1 1/2 cups figs (fig preserves well drained and chopped)
1/2 cup pecans
Preparation

Sift together flour, salt,baking soda, cinnamon and allspice set aside
Combine shorting and sugar: add eggs and vanilla.
Add flour mixture and blend until smooth.
Add fig preserves.
Drop by by teaspoon onto well greased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 min at 350\u00b0F.
