Gule Aeter - Danish Pea Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 cups yellow split peas
1 liter water
1 teaspoon salt
500 g bacon, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
3 leeks, chopped
3 carrots, peeled & chopped
3 potatoes, peeled & chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 smoked ham hock
125 g vienna sausages, chopped
salt and pepper
Preparation

Place all the ingredients into a large pot, bring to the boil and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove the hock from the soup and remove the meat from the bone, chop into small pieces and put back into soup.
Serve.
