Buttery Pecan Date Spread - cooking recipe

1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine, softened
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup dates, finely chopped
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
1 tablespoon sherry wine or 1 tablespoon apple juice
Preparation

in small mixer bowl combine the cream cheese, beat at med speed, scraping bowl often until well mixed.
by hand stir in remaining ingredients.
serve with crackers or nut bread.
store refrigerated.
