Hot Mulled Apple Cider - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gallon apple cider, divided
    1 1/2 cups water
    6 whole cloves
    5 whole allspice
    1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    6 cinnamon sticks
    1 cup packed brown sugar
Preparation
    In covered 6-quart saucepot or kettle, simmer 2 cups apple cider, water, cloves, allspice, nutmeg and cinnamon sticks for 10 minutes.
    Add remaining apple cider and brown sugar; heat, stirring, until sugar dissolves.
    Keep warm, do not boil.
    Serve in cups or mugs.
    Garnish with cinnamon stick.
