Yet Another Fiesta Tamale Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion (minced)
    1 garlic clove (minced)
    3 tablespoons butter
    1 lb ground beef
    1/2 lb pork sausage
    1 (28 ounce) can whole tomatoes
    1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn (drained)
    2 teaspoons salt
    2 teaspoons chili powder (more to taste)
    20 -24 pitted black olives
    1 cup cornmeal
    1 cup milk
    2 eggs (well beaten)
    2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350.
    Saute onion and garlic in butter.
    Add ground beef and sausage and cook until brown.
    Add tomatoes (with juice) and crush with spoon or fork (I crush them with my hands before adding, but that's just me).
    Add corn, salt and chili powder. Heat through.
    Pour into 13x9 casserole dish.
    Press olives down into meat mixture until they are just showing.
    In medium bowl, mix together cornmeal, milk and eggs.
    Pour over meat mixture and olives.
    Sprinkle cheese over top.
    Bake uncovered for 1 hour.
