Ingredients

1 cup margarine or 1 cup oleo
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 - 2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation

Beat oleo until fluffy.
Gradually add sugars, beating well.
Add egg and vanilla, beat well.
Combine flour, soda, salt and cream of tartar.
Add gradually to creamed mixture.
Shape into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 325\u00b0 for 10-12 minutes.
