German-Style Short Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lbs beef short ribs
    2 tablespoons oil
    10 1/2 ounces French onion soup
    1 cup water
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    2 -3 slices pumpernickel bread, crumbled
    cooked egg noodles
Preparation
    In a large soup pot over medium heat, brown ribs in oil for 6 to 8 minutes; drain. Add soup, water, lemon juice and seasonings; bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 1-1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Stir in bread and serve over noodles.
