Aunt Mabel'S Snowflake Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 inches pie crusts, baked and cooled
    1 (1/4 ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin
    1/4 cup water
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 cup flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 1/2 cups milk
    3 egg whites
    1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 teaspoon almond extract
    8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
    1 cup coconut
Preparation
    Soften knox gelatin in 1/4 cup water and let set.
    Mix together in a saucepan the sugar, flour and salt.
    Stir in milk; cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thick. Cook for 1 additional minute after mixture thickens.
    Remove from heat, stir in gelatine mixture and cool.
    Beat the 3 egg whites; add cream of tartar and the other 1/2 cup sugar. Beat until glossy. Add vanilla and almond extracts.
    Fold in Cool Whip and coconut.
    Put in baked pie shell and refrigerate.
