Hermit Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 cups flour
    4 teaspoons baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
    1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
    1 1/2 teaspoons ground cloves
    1 cup raisins
    1 cup chopped nuts
    2 cups sugar
    1 1/2 cups margarine, softened
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup molasses
    sugar, for rolling
Preparation
    Mix the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, raisins and nuts in a bowl. Cream 2 cups sugar, margarine and eggs in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in the molasses. Add the flour mixture and mix well. Chill, covered, for 2 hours.
    Preheat the oven to 325*F.
    Shape the dough into fingersize pieces. Roll in sugar. Arrange on greased cookie sheets.
    Bake for 7 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
