Funny Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
topping
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup hot water
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Preheat oven at 350 degrees.
Mix the first 8 ingredients, pour into a deep dish pie plate; must be\"deep dished\".
Mix the 4 ingredients for the topping; pour over top of the mixture in pie dish.
Bake at 350 degrees, for 35 to 45 minutes on bottom rack of oven.
*Thetopping should now be the at the bottom of the dish.
